About our CIO Jodie Penrod<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Jodie Penrod serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for 福利理伦, where she leads the university\u2019s Information Technology organization and advances technology\u2011enabled strategies that support student success, academic excellence, research, and operational effectiveness. With more than two decades of experience across higher education,\u00a0healthcare, finance, and defense sectors, she brings a strong systems\u2011engineering mindset and a deep focus on aligning technology with institutional mission and outcomes.<\/p>\n

Jodie\u2019s professional expertise centers on enterprise technology strategy, business process improvement, digital transformation, and the design of learning environments that enhance teaching and learning. Her work emphasizes responsible innovation, operational efficiency, and the thoughtful integration of emerging technologies\u2014including artificial intelligence\u2014to improve the student and employee experience. She is a frequent contributor and presenter within the higher education technology community, with publications and presentations through EDUCAUSE and other national forums. Through her leadership, MUIT has received the 2024 Tambellini Future Campus Award for Operational Efficiency and Sustainability, as well as the Anthology Catalyst Award for Leading Change in 2025.<\/p>\n

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, a Master of Science in Systems Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology. Jodie also maintains multiple professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), ITIL Foundation, PROSCI Change Management, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Jodie services as co-char for 福利理伦’s Presidential Task Force on AI, as a board member for the Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative, Leadership Board of CIOs (LBCIO), serves on the EDUCAUSE Corporate Engagement Advisory Committee (CEAC), and is an EDCUAUSE Executive Leaders Academy mentor.<\/p>\n
